‘Attack On Titan’ Live Action Teaser Is Colossal

When they first announced a live action version of the manga and anime were coming out, I had my doubts about it. Was it going to be goofy or campy? Was it going to have horrible CGI? I almost didn’t want to watch the preview when it came out. I am glad I did. Though it very short, more of a teaser then a preview, it does prove one thing: They are at least serious at making a solid attempt at this live action film.

I have read many complaining that the full Asian cast doesn’t fit the characters of the series, since many were not of Asian decent (in the anime/manga). However, to be fair, Hollywood does the same thing with many stories that have Asian origins and characters and its hypocritical for us to get upset at them for doing what America has done for decades. That being said, I look at the live action version as its own story and will go into it not seeking to connect the film to the series.

So tell us what you think about the teaser and the casting for the film. Here are the previously released character posters.

Revealed today, we get our first look at Eren, Armin, Mikasa and several new characters in costume for the upcoming live-action Attack On Titan film. Japanese news websites Eiga.com and Sanspo unveiled the first character visuals for the upcoming live-action Attack on Titan films.

The cast will include 7 new characters that are unique to the film version of the story. The character of Shikishima is said to hold the key to the films story as “humanity’s strongest man”.

While some of the cast selections don’t ‘look’ the part from the anime or manga, producer Yoshihiro Sato worked closely with manga creator Hajime Isayama to pick out the best actors and actresses who could act out the characters ‘spirit’.

The project will span 2 films and is expected to be out Summer 2015.
