Maybe you’ve been off in your own little world sipping some awesomely alcoholic beverage on the beach (or wherever it is that’s better than where you are), but either way, you may have missed some news about the latest endeavors from one of our favorite sci-fi actors!
A couple of weeks ago, Nathan Fillion tweeted about his participation in charity: water this year. While he has participated in charity: water campaigns in the past, this time around he’s got Wash himself, Alan Tudyk, joining the mayhem for a Con Man inspired charity: water campaign.
Con Man, if you don’t know, is a new comedy created by Alan Tudyk and produced by Nathan Fillion where Alan Tudyk stars as an actor known for his role as a spaceship pilot from a cancelled sci-fi TV show. Alan Tudyk has started an indiegogo campaign to fund the series and get it off the ground and the funders have been killing it ever since the campaign opened. But we aren’t here to discuss this awesome new comedy, which, if you watch the teaser, looks hilarious! We’re here about the charity: water campaign that is paired with the awesomeness of Con Man!
While the indiegogo campaign offers perks for donations and will eventually provide you with some great entertainment, the Con Man charity: water campaign is even better, because with every donation, you help bring clean water to people around the world. Better yet, with every $10 donation, you’ll be entered for a chance to attend a Comic Con of Nathan and Alan’s choosing, sit-down, have lunch and ask them questions! For every $250, you’ll get a signed photograph from both with 25 chances to go to Comic Con with them! Who wouldn’t want that?
You still have twelve days to donate, so check out the information directly from charity: water below, head over to the site and donate your monies! Then when you’re done with that, pledge your birthday and run your own charity: water campaign!
Every day, 1,400 kids under the age of 5 die from water-related illnesses. Let’s help change that!

The Con Man indiegogo campaign still has eleven days left, if you’d like to donate! They’ve only reached about 576% of their goal, so you’ll definitely want to hurry over and fund that.
The series is a light-hearted take on the personalities, luminaries, and characters in the scifi community we are privileged to call ourselves members. Con Man is a way to share some of the surreal occurrences we have had, while telling the story of a guy learning to love and embrace his fans.
I wanted to make a show that featured all of my favorite convention artists and friends together. Not only that, I wanted to celebrate the world where heroes, villains, zombie hunters, and space pirates all overlap. I especially wanted to work with my friend Nathan Fillion again.
