I’ll admit it – I own, I think, 6 or 7 copies of Outlander, 2 or 3 Drums and Voyager, 2 hardback Breath of Snow and Ashes… A couple are for lending out, and some will NEVER be lent out (ahem, 20th Anniversary Edition with signed bookplate, signed MOBY). And now, I have a new dilemma – do I lend anyone my new BluRay Set? My soundtrack? But I’d still like to “convert” friends to Outlander – what to do?
Many of you feel the same way. From Facebook posts:
“I admit it, I am stingy with ‘one only’ items due to past experiences. A now out of copy book, too many tape cassettes to mention, record albums, andmy vintage red alligator pumps. Nope, never again.”
“I don’t think I’ll lend out my DVDs. I might go to their house and watch with them if they want!”
“Anything but Outlander!!!”
“I will buy books and DVDs for people. Close friends, I will lend my copies of the series on DVD, but not my BluRays. I might share MP3s of the soundtrack, but the actual disc is right here with me…”
“Absolutely, I loan them out! I am the local Outlander pimp.”
“If it’s someone I know well, yes on all questions. Otherwise no way in hell am I parting with it. ;)”
“Nope and nope.”
“I’d probably bug said person borrowing them practically every day to see where they are. Then I wold probably coerce said person into a discussion of characters, plots and just general writing of said books. Just saying…”
“Last night, my sister in law asked if she could borrow my BluRay set. I told her I would have to say no, since I actually love my Outlander BluRay set more than I like my teenage daughter, at least at this particular moment in time.”
