This episode was full of twists and turns – and still not a lot of answers. Frustrating!
Finding out about Clay’s backstory in Louisiana was interesting, to say the least. Malcolm turned him into a werewolf – and killed his mother. His father later took his life without his wife or son. Yet Clay was the one keeping Elena from killing Malcolm. Will this later come back to haunt Clay? I suspect it will – and that more of Clay’s memories will begin to resurface.
It wasn’t a huge surprise to see Jeremy kill Hector, especially in front of Malcolm. But I wonder if Jeremy will report Hector’s plot to the other werewolf Alphas, or simply let it be that Hector disappeared. One way or another, this could have repercussions for Jeremy and the Pack in the future.
Elena’s meeting with Philip’s sister, Diane, was painful to watch. They’d been good friends, and now, Diane blames her for Phillip’s death, a guilt that Elena takes on without even attempting to avoid the blame. Yes, the fact that she was associated with Phillip is what caused his death, but she certainly didn’t kill him. She didn’t need to have that final tie to the ‘normal’ world severed, but it happened anyway. Now, the Pack is the only family she has.
Clay finds the spellbook in Louisiana through a lot of strange circumstances, but ultimately, it doesn’t really help. The witches – Ruth and Paige – show up regardless of the werewolves’ attempt at a spell. Jeremy and Nick are understandably unsure of Ruth and Paige, and there was never any question that they would hand over Malcolm. But somehow, someone – the witches or this ‘other’ evil being that the witches and Malcolm keep referring to – steals him away, right before Jeremy planned to kill him. Who has Malcolm now? What will they do to him? And will Jeremy be able to at least get his head so that he can prove to the other Alphas that Malcolm’s dead so he doesn’t lose the Pack?
And what’s happening with Rachel? Has this other group hurt her or the unborn baby? Will Logan and the Pack be able to save her in time?
So many questions and so few answers! Can’t wait to see what happens next week!
