As Falling Skies comes to its final season, many questions and plot lines are left to be wrapped up. Tom was last seen on an alien ship, about to reveal the new species that everyone feared so much and all he could say was “you are beautiful”.
On the ground, his family and the 2nd mass narrowly win a victory when the moon energy source is destroyed by Lexi and Tom. It remains to be seen how Hal and Ben’s relationship will heal after Ben and Maggie got romantic (but whats a set of spikes between brothers right?).
The teaser released this week ahead of Wondercon display a bleak and war-torn world. Tom is narrating and appears to be talking about Weaver, the warrior that just won’t give up. The man who reaches his journey’s end. In many ways that could also speak to all in the 2nd mass. “There is one last fight, and nothing will be as it was.”
The inception style water breaking through the walls in the room we left Tom in seems to acknowledge our thoughts that what he was seeing was just a hallucination. If that is true, the question is where is Tom really at and what do they really look like?
With Lexi and her 2 overlord handlers dead, questions as to the Espheni’s end game and a possible cure for Ben and other harnessed kids remains unanswered and in doubt. Will someone lose their life in order to protect their friends and family? Will the humans have the happy ending? We will find out on June 28th.
