After 2 seasons, Syfy has cancelled its horror/sci-fi series Helix from Battlestar developer Ronald D. Moore, According to Deadline. The series which focused on an outbreak of a virus that thretened all of humanity had bigger threats from within. The series debuted with 1.82 million viewers but found that viewers didn’t stick around for the second season. Numbers in season 2 fell 59% in total viewers and over 62% in its demo from season 1.

This is yet another setback for Syfy, who has struggled to bring quality science fiction programming back after switching its gears towards reality TV several years ago. However there are several success stories including Defiance, 12 Monkeys and a huge lineup of new shows coming up this fall.
