OMG YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!! *takes a deep breath* I’m going to go in order of events, even though it’s paining me to do so.
So good old King Frederick is still a lecher for Hexenbiests – ick. Juliette seems unthrilled, too, so maybe she has a few scruples left. Interestingly, Diana plays nice granddaughter to the king. Hmm.
Nick, Hank, Trubel and Adalind cook up a strange little trap in the hotel for Kenneth which actually works. Wu happily ‘arrests’ and then deposits Kenneth for his ass-kicking by Nick – even though he’s a little worried that Nick won’t win. Thankfully, Nick does. Goodbye and good riddance, Kenneth, you good-for-nothing jerk. I loved the fact that Kenneth becomes the Jack the Ripper scapegoat – completely brilliant move there by Hank and Renard.
They then discover where the King has Diana and Juliette, and after Nick, Hank, Trubel and Monroe get loaded up at the spice shop, they head out there – only to be joined by Wu, who has disregarded Nick’s instructions to stay out of it. It was a great action scene as they all attacked and took out various Verrat. Nick watching the helicopter taking the King, Juliette and Diana away was poignant. You might’ve thought that would be the end of it, but noooo.
After making sure the rest of the gang was settled, Nick went back to the house. Little did he know that Meisner – Meisner!! – had gotten onto the helicopter and taken over, shoving out the King and killing him – he was still true to Diana after all this time. That said – – who has Diana now? Meisner? The Rebellion? Will they tell Sean and Adalind?
They clearly went back to Portland, because Juliette was waiting at the house for Nick. He came close to killing her, but couldn’t do it. Then, when she tried to kill him, Trubel shot her, and it appears that Juliette died in Nick’s arms. I’m saying appeared because I can’t BELIEVE Juliette is dead! I know and understand everything that happened, but… Juliette is gone?! I can’t even comprehend this. I don’t want it to be true. Even with everything that happened, everything that Juliette did that was unforgivable… it just seems wrong.
And then the episode ends with the group that was trying to recruit Trubel, showing up with guns drawn and the main agent saying “Get her.” Get Trubel? Get Juliette? And of course, we have no answers until the fall… months from now.
I’m still trying to process everything that happened in the finale, and I’m sure you are, too. Should we hope Juliette makes it, somehow? I don’t know anymore. I know that if she truly is dead, I will miss Bitsie Tulloch and Juliette tremendously. The character of Juliette went through a lot in these four seasons, and Bitsie Tulloch truly showed her acting chops as things intensified. She has an amazing range, and her talents are incredible. I don’t want to say goodbye.
There are many unanswered questions to do with the keys, what the Royals really want, and where the show will go from here. I admit to finding this finale very emotional, and all I can say is… see you when season 5 starts.
