What a crazy town this is turning out to be! Here we are, in the center of town, celebrated Beverly’s death. How quaint. Pope is almost like an evangelist, telling the town how good it is that they all work together. Geesh! What a nutball!
Ethan can’t quite believe what he just witnessed. he sneaks around in the dark and ends up at Kate’s house. She is making a nice cup of tea to end the nights festivities. “What I saw tonight was just evil” he says to Kate. She doesn’t agree. “Beverly Brown broke the rules”, she retorts. They call it reckoning, Ethan calls it murder. Ethan wants her to leave with him, she isn’t having any of it. She tells Ethan there are no second chances here, and he just got one. She tells him to hold on to his tracking chip. The phone starts ringing but she knows its not for her. She tells Ethan,” you’ll never make it out of here alive”.
He goes past the old house that held Bill Evan’s body and sees through the window that there is a body hanging in there. It is Beverly’s. He takes her down and vows to her dead body that he will find her daughter and let her know how much her mother loved her. This scene kind of made me sad .

Theresa stops at the Seattle Secret Service office to find out some more info on Ethan. She gives a sad story to the receptionist and when the lady steps away, she logs into Ethan’s account and finds that he last stopped at a small town in Idaho. Ethan’s boss in up on this and puts a call into Dr Jenkins to let him know that they are headed his way. Ethan’s wife and son are on their way to find him. Well, they find Wayward Pines, but guess who gets to them first? Pope stops them on the road in and says the car is leaking oil. Well, not really, but he cuts the oil line to the car in a ruse to get them to stop.
Ethan sneaks around town and ends up at Beverly’s house. He goes in and searches around, stopping at the fridge to get a drink. 3 people come in talking about a new family moving in today. When 2 of them step out , he shows himself to the other. The man tells him not to say a word and looks towards the ceiling. That was strange. Are some of the residents protecting Ethan?
Ethan spots a food delivery truck with a license plate from Wyoming. Could this be his way out? Ethan sneaks into the back of the truck, hoping that this is his ride out of Wayward Pines. But when the truck finally stops, Ethan is in a huge warehouse. Where the hell is this place? There are all manner of storage units for food and drink and anything else you would need. When he hears someone coming he runs off to hide. He finds many abandoned vehicles. They look like they have been here awhile. Then he finds his wife’s car!
This is sheer madness! When he hears people coming, he hides in the car. Here are all Theresa’s effects in a baggie. Pope breaks out the window and injects Ethan with something that knocks him out. When he wakes up to a phone ring, someone tells him his family has been discharged from the hospital. Nurse Pam tells Ethan they are probably at home, Beverly’s home is now the Burke’s. After a heartwarming reunion, he finds that they don’t remember anything until the hospital. A realtor has led them here. WTH! He sends Ben outside and tells Theresa what has been going on and that it isn’t safe. A strange kid welcomes Ben. Ethan leaves them locked in and says don’t answer the phone or go anywhere.

Upon seeing Pope and Nurse Pam, he warns Pope to stay away from his family and Pam says,”we just want you to have a happy life here in Wayward Pines”. But Ethan doesn’t get it. They banter back and forth and Pope gets riled up. Ethan threatens to kill him and Pope says, “this is my town”. Then the phone rings and Nurse Pam tells Pope to stop. Who is watching and listening and who is in control of this town?
Ethan runs in to D.r Jenkins and asks,”What is wrong with every person in this town”? to which Jenkins replies,”they are doing the best that they can”. What the heck was that all about? He tells Ethan that not many can say that they have their families with them and that they need someone like him in this town. He begs Ethan to stay, but Ethan says,”I can’t, I don’t live here”. Another WTH moment! Theresa looks around the house for Ben and finds him missing, only to find Pope, comfortably sitting in her kitchen eating ice cream.
I’d say get the hell out of my kitchen, but she listens to him blather on, not really understanding why he is there. He wants a thank you for saving her. What? This guy creeps me out and he is tired of the Burkes getting special treatment around town.
Ben spies on Ethan talking to Kate in the woods. He is sure his dad is still having the affair. She tries to convince Ethan that it is 12 years since they last saw each other. She has tried it all to get out of town, but to no avail. She has given up and now just plays along. Ethan returns home to find Ben and Theresa gone. Now what? They are walking out of town with their bags when Pope pulls up.
She and Ben run, but it isn’t fast enough. Pope catches them at the wall and pulls a gun on them!

Ethan arrives in time to see Pope approaching Theresa with evil intent, and they get into it. Pope pulls his gun against Ethan, when Ben slams down the accelerator and hits Pope with the truck. Pope is lying there nearly dead. Pope tells Ethan,
You think you want to know the truth, but you don’t. It’s worse than anything you can imagine.
Ethan shoots Pope. He rifles thru Pope’s pockets and finds a remote. He clicks on it, only to see the gates opening in the electrified wall. Just then, something, (what the heck is it?), rushes in and grabs Pope’s body and drags it out beyond the wall. Terrible ungodly screams erupt outside the fence, leaving Ethan, Theresa and Ben in awe.
