Dark Horse’s Archie vs Predator Part 4

With only the Predator, Veronica, Betty and Archie alive (well just about in Archie’s case) how will the final issue of Archie vs Predator end? This review contains spoilers.

The Predator shows off in front of the ladies by pulling Diltons face of his skull. The girls needless to say aren’t impressed. Betty faints holding a very injured Archie as the Predator stands over them.

When she comes to she is in Veronicas house, Ronnie herself is dressed up to the nines, and suggests that Betty needs to smarten her looks up too. Rather shallow our Veronica. Anyway,she tells Betty about a panic room in the house and how they can lure the Predator there and then blow the house up. Veronicas well off dad doesn’t only have a fancy pants panic room. He also seem to have a machine that can fix people from dying too. Director Fury wouldn’t have needed project T.a.h.i.t.i he could just have shipped agent Coulson to Riverdale to resuscitate him. Sorry I ramble on. But nevertheless a very handy machine to have. The glammed up girls stitch Archie in it and hope for the best.

Suddenly the Predator shows up for another rough and tumble and as you think the girls are about to meet their maker, a beefed up Archie shows up and takes on our angry Alien visitor. The Hunter manages to get injured but Archie 2.0 still is no match for him. As Archie get smashed to bits Betty jumps the Predator from behind knocking him out, but looses her arm in the fight. As she cradles Archie, the Predator whimpers “Be-tty”. She doesn’t know how to live without Archie, but devious Ronnie has a plan. She drags Betty into the pnic room and blows up the house. So big bang and the girls win and no more Predator? Weeeeell not quite. As the girls went into the panic room the Predator crawled after them, as he seems infatuated with the women. How do they solve the conundrum? By sticking him into the magnificent fixer of all bodily harm machine, and instructs it to give the hunter some plastic surgery to make him into Archie….of course!

I can’t say I saw that ending coming! I have actually enjoyed this rather silly romp of a comic a lot. It was very bloody, very funny and rather unique. Maybe Archie could meet Buffy and the scoobies next?
