In Syfy’s upcoming series The Expanse, mankind has colonized the solar system outward as far as the asteroid belt. Set hundreds of years in the future, many things have advanced radically, but politics, class warfare, and crime still persist. The 10-part, incredibly ambitious series is filled with stunningly beautiful visuals, feature film quality cinematography, and top-notch acting. This is the network’s biggest budget project to date, clocking in at $5-6 million dollars per episode and it really shows.
A thriller set hundreds of years in the future, The Expanse follows the case of a missing young woman who brings a hardened detective and a rogue ship’s captain together in a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history.
The series is based on the popular New York Times bestselling book series collectively known as “The Expanse,” written by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck (under the pen name James S. A. Corey). Abraham and Franck will be show producers.
