Arrow fans, we are getting spoiled in every sense of the word lately! Only a week after the first one dropped, we’re gifted with another Season Four promo! In this newest trailer, we get a taste of how the upcoming season will deal with Light versus Dark (or, ah, ahem Darhk) as Oliver makes his transformation into Green Arrow in the present and The Hood in the flashbacks. This idea is emphasized in the trailer when Waller tells Oliver to embrace his inner darkness.
Some of the footage in this trailer is recycled from the first promo, but new footage makes up for that, especially the moment when Damien Darhk stops one of Oliver’s arrows in midair! Is he a metahuman? Is he a bonafide magician wielding “darhk” magic? We can’t say for sure, but it’s got me pretty damn intrigued. To quote Thea, “This is so cool!”
Since Season Three ended with Diggle and Oliver not being on the best of terms, it’s promising to see in this trailer that the two of them may be on the mend. Oliver will apparently take a bullet for Diggle, and Digg’s response sounds both thankful and a little surprised (or he’s just breathless from all the action). In any case, I’m excited to see how their friendship is restored.
And while we’re on the topic of relationships, this trailer also shows Oliver tucking what appears to be an engagement ring into a cupcake, as well as some short clips of him and Felicity being all lovey on each other. This article from Comicbook.com asks the question on everyone’s mind:
Is Oliver popping the question to Felicity?
The CW Television Network has released “So Cool” trailer for Season 4 of Arrow. The new one-minute spot features a scene that will have Olicity shippers gasping for breath. It appears as though Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) will ask Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) to marry him in the upcoming premiere.
Watch as Oliver puts a ring on top of a cupcake for his cupcake. So romantic!
But of course, what might have been a proposal is interrupted by Thea and Laurel, the ones who bring Oliver out of his retirement from vigilantism. It seems there’s a theme developing here since the Season Three premiere featured a big Olicity moment and then brought it to a grinding halt. I see what you’re doing, writers!
Anyway, Oliver’s character arc this coming season will most likely focus on him learning how to be the Green Arrow and how to not use his default “darkness mode” in order to fight the darkness of others. And with Damien Darhk zeroing in on Oliver, plotting to destroy his home and the people he loves, that personal journey won’t be easy (it never is, right?).
The Arrow Season Four premiere is Wednesday, October 7th on the CW!
