The Flash Season 2 is less than three weeks away! To celebrate, we have more spoilers, photos, and even a new trailer! In the new “Three Weeks” trailer, it’s go time. With snippets of behind the scenes shots and actual episode footage, it’s not hard to get ramped up for the premiere.
The CW seems to have heard (and granted!) my wish for a Season 2 poster with Barry in it. Grant Gustin himself revealed this new poster, showing The Flash collapsed to his knees as lightning bolts surround his body. Talk about shocking!
He’s in pain, maybe in the rain (but not in Spain), and one has to wonder: is a meta-human attacking him, or is that lightning coming from within? Looks can be deceiving, and we know Barry will be facing more challenges than ever, both externally and internally. Since 2×01 will begin several months after the Season 1 finale, I’m sure Barry has had plenty of time to feel guilty about what happened in the wake of last season’s finale, particularly about Eddie.
So let’s take a look at the official synopsis of Season 2, Episode 1 (courtesy of this article on Comicbook.com) :
“The Man Who Saved Central City”
BARRY DECIDES HE NEEDS TO PROTECT THE CITY ON HIS OWN — Picking up months after the Singularity attacked Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) is still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie’s death. Concerned about putting his friends in danger, Barry has pushed everyone away and has chosen to protect the city on his own. When a meta-human named Atom Smasher (guest star Adam Copeland) attacks the city, Iris (Candice Patton) tells Barry that he needs to let his friends help him protect the citizens of Central City. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) helps Joe (Jesse L. Martin) with his Meta Task Force.
In typical hero fashion, Barry is trying to shoulder the world alone and needs someone to give him a good
smack reminder that he can’t do everything alone. So here comes Iris to the rescue! I’m also very intrigued by the Meta Task Force and how the rest of Team Flash is doing in general. Based on these awesome photos from the premiere, courtesy of this article on Comicbook.com, life in Central City will be anything but dull:
And now for a little bonus: The Flash Season 1 DVD was just released and one of the deleted scenes teases Aquaman! In it, Joe and Barry are talking (before he became The Flash) about how much Barry skips work to go investigate rumors of people with powers. This article from Comicbook.com shares:
“Yeah, and last month you disappeared to Amnesty Bay to investigate a man who could talk to fish,” Joe says. That’s a line directly referencing Aquaman and his above-water home. He also mentions other “urban legends” that Barry is investigating, opening him up to even more characters in the DC Comics world that could come to The CW.
Perhaps it’s just an Easter egg, but the possibilities are simply too exciting to ignore! Would you like to see Aquaman on the small screen? What other DC characters should appear on The Flash? And most important of all: are you ready for Season 2? Bring it on!
