In the new film The 5th Wave, four waves of increasingly deadly attacks have left most of Earth decimated. Against a backdrop of fear and distrust, Cassie (Chloë Grace Moretz) is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother. As she prepares for the inevitable and lethal 5th wave, Cassie teams up with a young man who may become her final hope – if she can only trust him.
Based on a trilogy of books, critics have stated that this could be the big push that alien science fiction films have been needing for a long time. While the trailers are fairly boiler plate, they manage to do one thing correctly that so many other films do wrong, they kept ‘them’ out of sight. Its bound to keep viewers on edge not knowing what the Others look like, and knowing they can look like your friends or family members.
