If you’re a fan of Harry Potter, you’ve probably felt a bit deprived of the wizarding world without a new movie or book to enjoy, but lucky for us, J.K. Rowling hasn’t abandoned this realm quite yet. As you probably already know, a new movie trilogy inspired by (and named after) the book, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, has been in the works since 2013 with the genius behind Harry Potter writing the screenplays herself. Unfortunately, it’ll still be a while longer before we can squee over the newest installation to the wizarding world as the movie won’t be in theaters until November 2016. But we can, at least, scream with glee in front of our computer/phone/tablet/some other form of excellent technology while watching the new trailer released by Warner Bros yesterday. Check out the official synopsis from Warner Bros. and enjoy the trailer below!
Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) stars in the central role of wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four Harry Potter blockbusters.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds. ~ WarnerBros.com
