Two new Outlander licensees were announced today through Licensing.biz – Toy Vault will produce an Outlander game, and Tonner will produce Outlander dolls.
Toy Vault produces a wide range of mostly sci fi and fantasy related toys and games, with licenses from Firefly, Labyrinth, The Princess Bride and Monty Python, among others – board and card games, plush, character slippers, etc. I’ve heard of at least one home-made Outlander Monopoly-type game, and while it would be fun to actually have an official Outlander Monopoly (I have a Lord of the Rings, a Disney, a Mickey Mouse…), you can be assured that this is not what we’ll get. What it WILL be, however, I have no Clue…
Tonner Doll is a maker of very high end fashion dolls, with most of their products priced just under $200 (and some more than that). They’re beautiful, 17-inch dolls (some are larger), and many are jointed so they’re poseable. They come with detailed clothing, and in some cases, available accessories (fainting couches with the Gone with the Wind doll, for example). At this price point, I suspect that the audience for this kind of item will be limited, but who wouldn’t want a Jamie doll? However, I haven’t seen any male dolls in the Tonner collection.
When I have more information about these or other licensed products, I’ll bring it to you! In the meantime, take my poll and let me (and Knockout Licensing) know what you’re still looking for in licensed products!
