In “O Brother Where Art Thou?,” Amara will finally use her powers and “issues a shocking challenge” which will cause the boys to face their own personal problems. Sam will have to deal with his visions while Dean deals with his connection to Amara. As we all know, Sam has come to a conclusion regarding God’s desires about Lucifer’s cage and is under the belief that God wants him to go back to the cage to find answers to their Amara problem. That’s right, God basically wants Sam to go to Hell. What will this mean for Sam? Considering Lucifer was once on God’s side, maybe he had helped capture The Darkness in the first place and has the answers to the problem Sam and Dean are facing. Meanwhile, Dean will try to determine what his connection to Amara means. This connection to The Darkness has already hindered their success once, so how will it interfere with the boys’ plans to defeat Amara next? Mark Pellegrino returns as Lucifer and Ruth Connell returns as Rowena next week in the Mid-Season Finale of Supernatural. Check out the trailer and synopsis below and tune into The CW on Wednesday at 9/8c to find out.

AMARA UNLEASHES HER POWER UPON THE WORLD — Amara (guest star Emily Swallow) unleashes her power on the local townspeople as she issues a shocking challenge. Dean (Jensen Ackles) tries to better understand the hold Amara has on him, while Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Crowley (Mark Sheppard) come up with a plan that could have disastrous consequences. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Eugenie Ross-Leming & Brad Buckner (#1109). Original airdate 12/9/2015.

Supernatural airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on The CW after all-new episodes of Arrow.
