The Devil’s coming to town next week – and you’re going to like it. Lucifer, starring Tom Ellis as the slickest, suavest, best looking Satan you’ve ever seen, debuts next Monday, January 25, on Fox.

Lucifer Morningstar, the Devil himself, takes a vacation to Los Angeles, and decides to stay. Who wouldn’t? While the weather may at times be similar to his previous location, the scenery is sure better – girls, cars, clubs. And he’s tired of dealing with every bad person who ever was. What kind of trouble will that cause, without a gatekeeper in Hell? DB Woodside plays the angel Amenadiel, sent to convince – and not always nicely – Lucifer to return to the underworld. Lucifer quickly gets involved in a mystery, the death of a young woman who had made a deal with the Devil, and teams up with Detective Chloe Dancer, the one woman he can’t bring under his spell, to find a murderer.
The pilot is fast-moving and funny. Watch particularly for Rachael Harris as Dr. Kim Martin, as Lucifer literally charms the pants off of her. The show is helped, of course, by the charm and British accent of its star! And ladies, as good as he looks on screen, he looks even better in person – I was lucky enough to participate in the press roundtable at San Diego ComicCon this past summer, and sat THISCLOSE to Mr. Ellis (as well as other cast members and show producers).
