Colonists, rejoice! No long wait, no nail biting – our new fave show, Colony, has already been renewed for a second season, according to Deadline Hollywood.
According to Deadline, “Carlton (Cuse) and Ryan (Condal) have successfully delivered a story that tests the strengths and weaknesses of a society in duress, and the bonds of a family divided,” said Chris McCumber, President of USA Network. “Colony’s performance across all platforms has been impressive, and we can’t wait to see where the story takes us.”
Live viewing numbers haven’t been impressive, the article adds, but the “live plus 3” number (live plus watching and/or rewatching from DVR’d episodes or from the show’s website – yes, your cable company knows what you DVR and reports it) “has been posting big time-shifted viewing percentage increases.” And more than a half million people watched the pilot episode before it’s official airing, when it was posted on multiple digital platforms.
I’m excited about this news, and I hope to have more Colony news for you in coming weeks. In the meantime, take our short Colony poll!
