There has been a time jump. Andrew Lincoln mentioned it in an interview. In The Next World, the time has sped up 2 months. Two months after the violent episode from last week.’Thangs and stuff’, have happened, and are happening.
We see that Alexandria is calm and being cleaned up and repaired. Rick and Daryl decide to make a BROtrip to find much needed supplies. Denise asks Daryl to keep his eye out for a certain thing. It is for Tara, and means something to her. He halfass agrees. Eugene puts in his two cents about wanting sorghum. it’s a good grain and would be useful. Gotta love Eugene’s spirit.
Things are going good, there is a bro-mance going on here, music, chattering and cool brotherhood between the two. After stopping for a vending machine, with soda and chips, Jesus arrives! Played by Tom Payne, this is a little of what he had to say about Jesus to EW, “He’s a very clever guy, and this isn’t the first time he’s met new people on the road, and he deals with different people in different ways, and Daryl and Rick are just another couple of people he’s dealing with. He sized them up. I spoke to Scott about it, like he had been watching them before he physically meets them. He had been watching them for a while, I think, and then he’s figured out how he’s going to approach them.” Read Here
Well, approaches them , he does, and running, chasing and thievery occurs. He steals the truck. They get it back, but in the next few moments, Jesus has been riding on the top of the truck, then there is fighting, walkers and Daryl almost gets bit, but Jesus saves him! They knock him out and decide to take him to Alexandria.
A cool fan made a Youtube video of the chase scene featuring Benny Hill chase music! It’s epic!
Meanwhile, Carl and Enid are out walking in the forest. It’s what kids do. They run into a walker, but Carl tells Enid to leave. She really wants to kill it but Carl is adamant about not doing so. Why? We find out later.
Michonne is watching Spencer. She sees him leave and go out beyond the fence. He has been acting strangely. Because of her relationship with Deanna, she worries about him. We find out that the reason Carl was so upset about the walker he found in the woods. Carl sees Spencer and Michonne and leads the walker to them. The walker is Deanna.
I don’t need to tell you the rest as you can see what happened, but that is why Spencer was in the woods. A sad day for him, but closure is there now.
When Michonne talks to Carl about this later, she is slightly pissed at him for not killing Deanna. But Carl was right in saying that the person to kill Deanna, should have been someone who loves her. Michonne seems to get this now, as Carl tells her that he would do it for her. He obviously loves her as family. They embrace.
When Rick finally gets back to Alexandria, (with no toothpaste), he is tired and wiped out. He and Daryl carry the unconcious Jesus to the cell where Morgan kept the Wolf. They let him be, deciding to deal with him in the morning.
Rick sits on the couch exhausted. Michonne comes in. Neither want to talk about the day that they have had. Rick tells her the toothpaste is at the bottom of a lake. He remembers and pulls out a roll of breath mints. She seems pleased. They hold hands and her it comes, THEY KISS! They get jiggy with it. Rick and Michone ship! Richonne! Finally after all this time. They are good for each other. That’s what millions of us think. Boo Hoo to the haters. This is a natural pairing. It feels right!
At the end of the episode, Rick and Michonne are in bed sleeping, naked. All of a sudden, Jesus is there! They both jump up ready to figh,t as Jesus informs Rick that they ‘need to talk’.
I just feel the need to say this. I am loving this season so far. Bro-mance, Richonne and all. How do you feel about all of this? Let me know what you think!
