It looks like those of us who were looking forward to watching another movie about an apocalyptic plague this weekend are going to be disappointed: Viral, a new movie from directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman which was slated to release today, has now been postponed indefinitely.
As of this writing, no definite release date appears to be available. Movieinsider.com gives the clearest update I could find, stating that the release date has been pushed back “from 2/19/2016 to TBA”. ComingSoon.net puts the movie’s release at December 31, 2016, though this early in the year, that date feels like a placeholder as well. Other sources I checked, such as Movies.com, Moviefone, and IMDB.com, either give no release date at all, or list a release date that’s already passed. A search for the film on Amazon Video returns the found-footage movie VHS: Viral as the first result.
Hopefully the movie will still see release in some form or another at some point, but for now we wait.
