Jason Patric known from such favorites as ,The Lost Boys, Rush and Narc, has been cast to star in season two of the creepy sci-fy drama from M. Night Shyamalan. Jason Patric was born on June 17, 1966 in Queens, New York, USA as Jason Patric Miller Jr. He is also known fo,r The Lost Boys (1987), In the Valley of Elah (2007) and Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997). I think this is a great choice, and I can’t wait to see him in this character!
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Wayward Pines season 2, will pick up after the events of the season-one finale, with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. Dr. Theo Yedlin — a new resident of the town — awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race. Patric will play Dr. Theo Yedlin, a confident, driven surgeon whose leadership skills will prove invaluable to the residents of Wayward Pines.
In the season one finale of Wayward Pines, we were left with a void to fill, after star Matt Dillon, who played Ethan, was killed off. This was a fine finish to the limited 10 episode series, but now that we have a season 2, we need a new star for a leader role. I think Jason will fit in fine and make this series a keeper! Series creator, Chad Hodge will not return as showrunner on the series based on Black Crouch’s book. I think this might be a mistake, but I don’t know everything. Hodge was vital to keeping the story real and interesting and was a favorite of the original writer, Blake Crouch. Mark Friedman (Believe, The Forgotten) will take over as showrunner and exec produce alongside Donald De Line (Green Lantern), Ashwin Rajan (Devil), Crouch and Shyamalan. “Jason is an incredibly grounded and believable actor,” said Shyamalan. “I’m so excited for audiences to see what he brings to the world of Wayward Pines.”
Patric is moving over to Wayward Pines, after recently filming Yellow Birds, opposite Jennifer Aniston and Toni Collette. The actor is making a return to acting after spending two years fighting for the custody of his son Gus — a case he eventually won — and helping change the law on the ability to prove parentage.
