It’s almost time for another Daredevil binge-watch with season 2 premiering on Netflix on Friday, March 18. What’s the first thing a superhero/crime-fighter does before being heroic and fighting crime? Why, suit up, of course!
In this short promotional video, we get some really good, close looks at Daredevil’s new suit. It’s damned nice. Matt Murdock’s (Charlie Cox) alter-ego is joined by new regulars, Elektra (Elodie Yung) and Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), aka The Punisher.
As we see all three of them suiting up, we can hear each character express their personal philosophy. Murdock says, “If I take a night off, people get hurt” which reflects his belief that he’s the only thing holding Hell’s Kitchen together. He may not be wrong. Elektra has a less philanthropic mantra, saying, “You don’t get what you want by day! You take it by force, at night!” And Frank Castle has what may be the most pragmatic, yet brutal, stance of all when he says, “I think this world, it needs men that are willing to make the hard call.” They don’t call him The Punisher because he takes it easy on people.
Just when Matt thinks he is bringing order back to the city, new forces are rising in Hell’s Kitchen. Now the Man Without Fear must take on a new adversary in Frank Castle and face an old flame – Elektra Natchios.
Bigger problems emerge when Frank Castle, a man looking for vengeance, is reborn as The Punisher, a man who takes justice into his own hands in Matt’s neighborhood. Meanwhile, Matt must balance his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, facing a life-altering choice that forces him to truly understand what it means to be a hero.
