Once Upon A Time: 514 Review “Devils Due”

TV Reviews abc, once upon a time

I think it is safe to say that Hades is not someone that anyone should mess with at all! I thought that Rumple played dirty, but I think that Hades takes the cake in this regard. I cannot say that I blame Pan, Cruella, or whoever else wants to leave the Underworld to go back up topside.  I wasn’t super crazy about this episode, but we had some very great Captain Swan moments. What I did love about this episode was Hades, and of course Emma and Hook, but I will start with what I didn’t care for.  The only scenes I did not care for were the ones of Rumple and Milah in the past.

MILAH AND RUMPLE

I was not a fan of the way Milah treated Rumple at all, I mean, sure he needed to grow a pair, but I found her to be very mean and harsh to him. Rumple definitely needed to take huge drink from a vat of courage juice, but I can see why he became the man that he was. I don’t blame her for being upset with him for making a huge deal like that behind her back, because she had a say in the choice that he made for her. It really showed a lack of respect, and love he had for her. It was also cruel of him to offer up his second born child to save his first born. I remember thinking that this was going to bite him in the arse, and that it end!

I can see her wanting him to step up, and be a man who is willing to do anything to save those he loves, even if it is not morally right to do so. I think she just took it to a level of being mean, I guess she never heard of the saying “You get more with sugar than you do with salt”.  The two of them only ended up hated each other in the end. I thought the first time she met Killian was sweet, it was nice to see how dashing and romantic he could be.

It was very nice to Pan to give the shop over to his son to do with whatever he wished, don’t you think? I couldn’t fathom what more Rumple could possibly want or need, but evidently he was looking for Baelfire when he cast that spell. He certainly got more than he bargained for when the “show me what I see” spell showed Belle back in Storybrooke. I would have dropped that little crystal ball myself when I realized what that meant. I recall thinking “Magic always comes with a price, dearie”

Now, that little deal you made with Hades has been amped up and if he doesn’t deliver, Hades will take the soul of his unborn baby. This is not your typical hostage situation, that’s for sure! I think Rumple met his match in Hades! I know he and his wife did not get along, but dropping her into the River of Lost Souls was cruel. She could have moved on to a better place, because her unfinished business was Baelfire. It was sad to think that she missed out on seeing him again.

When Emma and Milah were introduced to each other by Rumple, it had to have been the most awkward moment in television history. Rumple really went out of his way to make it a very uncomfortable moment. I felt bad for both woman, but especially poor Emma, because Rumple gave her no absolutely no warning at all. Emma was a trooper about it, and there was a sweet moment when she told Milah that her son was in a better place.

I loved the beautiful scene that Regina had by Daniel’s gravesite, it was nice for her to get some closure. Regina really does get some of the best lines, and I think I like the term Underbrooke better! Regina was having a little trouble with her magic, but now it’s back and she can perform the heart split.  Houston, we have a problem because it didn’t work! Of course, since Hook refused to decide which of his friends would stay in the world of Hades, he chose for him. Who is on the chopping block? You guessed it, Regina, Snow, and Emma!

What do you think is going to happen now? I am thinking that Henry needs to find the Underworld’s version of his author’s quill, and fast!! Sound off below with your thoughts!
