This week really got around to putting the “dark” in Dark Matter. Most of that darkness loomed over us on Tuesday, including the above picture of some nasty wound or infection of alien origin or who-knows-what. Put some Windex on it and keep reading.
Sometimes, the best thing you can do on a Sunday is curl up with a good book; something I believe Joe enjoys frequently in what little free time he currently has. With the Hugo Awards nomination deadline looming (It was March 31), he decided to offer up his top 13 short stories for 2015. One of the coolest things about today’s post is you can read most of his suggestions online at the handy links he’s provided.

Monday hit us with a barrage of teases in the forms of videos and still pictures. It starts out with a short promo designed to whet your appetite for season 2. Sadly, there’s no new footage in there, but it reminds you of the excitement of season 1 which, in turn, will get you psyched for season 2. It’ll also get you psyched for a rewatch of that great first season. Continuing on, you’ll find another cool CGI video and some beautiful space station imagery.
The creep factor was turned up to 11 on Tuesday where everything reveled in darkness, starting with a real-life version of that creepy character sketch from last Tuesday’s entry. Since one heart attack isn’t enough (They’re like Lay’s, y’know?), Doctor Death is followed by a foreboding corridor, a disgusting wound (featured as the main image here) and a creepy mask. At least the day’s entry was capped off with another cool CGI video, this one showed neural mapping in progress. Wait, that’s kinda creepy, too.

Wednesday gave us another chance to do one of our favorite things: Name an episode of Dark Matter! If you didn’t visit the link within the first 24 hours, you’ve missed the chance to vote this time. Keep visiting because there’ll be more opportunities to come. There’s also a video trip down memory lane with guest star Ross Hull that involves Stargate and Student Bodies. The day was closed with the above shot of Joe wearing this year’s trendiest safety glasses.

You’ve heard the old saying, “You can’t keep a good bong down”, right? Okay, maybe that’s not an old saying, but it still seems to be the case in Thursday’s blog entry. That sneaky art department has gone and designed a gun with one of the oft-seen bongs. Feast your eyes on the aptly and hilariously named RPG-420! Pass the Cheetos.
Thank God it’s Friday! And a good day it was. We learned the fan-chosen title for episode 208 and got three CGI videos all focusing on the Marauder’s systems. I love the title selection! You really need to head over and read the winning entry.

Saturday’s entry was all about dog pounds. No, I don’t mean animal shelters, but the actual weight of dogs. While the return to Vancouver is still over 2 months away, it’s time for Bubba and Lulu to trim down to their required fighting flying weight of 20 pounds each. I’m not seeing a lot of enthusiasm in that photo above.
And this puts us one week closer to the season two premiere of Dark Matter. Joe’s daily dose of insider information is really helping to make the wait a lot more bearable. Keep checking back here and at Joe’s blog to stay up to date on season two’s progress.
