A brand new Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trailer aired last night during the MTV Movie Awards and it’s definitely squee-worthy. November can’t come soon enough! Okay, since I’m still waiting for spring to show up, November can wait, but the movie can’t come soon enough! Fantastic Beasts is set to hit U.S. Theaters this November as the first of the series and will follow Newt Scamander, the author of the Fantastic Beasts book in the Harry Potter series (and a fellow Hufflepuff), on his adventures in New York City. Set about 70 years prior to Harry Potter, we’ll get a good glimpse of the magical community from years past as well as a few American wizards and a variety of beasts! In the latest trailer, two of these beasts, the Niffler and Swooping Evil, make an appearance, teasing us even more with what’s to come. While the Swooping Evil is new, Nifflers have been mentioned previously in the wizarding world.
Nifflers are known for their penchant for seeking out shiny things, and as we see in the trailer, this one has hit the jackpot. You may remember that the financially-challenged Ron Weasley was particularly taken with the cheeky little critters. ~ Pottermore.com
The Swooping Evil is brand new and we only manage to get a glimpse of the bird-like creature in the trailer, but adding that to the adorable Niffler, the return of the Harry Potter theme song (double-squee) and a few more hints and tidbits about the story, it’s more than enough to set us up and get us excited for the coming movie!
Check out the trailer below and check back for more updates about the latest adventure in the wizarding world.
