Alerted by good friend Koko, I checked out the Q&A Matt Roberts was doing on Twitter!
Q When will we see Bree and Roger pics?
A Later… I have some good ones too!
Q Which is your favorite upcoming episode, from the second half of the season?
A Well since I wrote 209 and 213 (with Toni Graphia), I’ll say those two
Q Since you were on set for filming of 207, but were too moved to take BTS pix, can you share any stories with us instead?
A It was very intense on set. We all knew how important those scenes were to the arc of the show.
Q What’s the best part of working with people as talented as Sam and Caitriona?
A They are both amazing jugglers.
Q Have you worked in any other productions other than Outlander?
A Yes, many
Q What’s been your favorite moment so far this season? And so far in the series?
A I love the duel… and Claire’s reaction to it.
Q What are you watching these days? Binging on anything good? I finished The Wire, loved it, looking for something new.
A Just binged Catastrophe (seriously only 6 eps) and House of Cards.
Q Was Sam’s beard real or fake?
A Really fake.
Q If you had shot that Jamie in the ’40s car scene, what would he wear? Any ideas?
A He would have been in a kilt and shirt… and as we know from the books Jamie has an innate ability to see things, hence the car.
Q Can Bouton come back to Scotland with the Frasers?
A Not without breaking many UK quarantine laws.
Q What has been the hardest/easiest part about adapting Diana’s books?
A We get this question a lot… A: Fitting all the amazing-ness in 58 minutes
Q Last year’s finale was one of hope. Can you give one word to describe the S2 finale?
A HEARTSTOPPING
Q What was the longest scene to shoot in Ep 207?
A Star Camber took two days to shoot.
Q What’s your favorite location in Scotland?
A Scotland.
Q Your photos make me want to get on the next plane to Scotland.
Q Was Faith a doll? How was she made to look so real? Lips looked like a real newborn.
A She was… and she was perfect size and weight. It was actually heartbreaking when we were looking at her in prep.
Q Will there ever be an episode longer than an hour?
A Hmmmm?
Q Any good advice to college students?
A Pay your parents back…
Q What is your guilty pleasure?
A I’ve said this before… there’s no guilt with pleasure.
Q What character do you identify with most?
A Adso.
Q What’s one thing you wish you could’ve included from the books?
A As I said in the 206 podcast, would have love to have filmed the wine/smallpox/caper on an actual ship.
Q Were there any dry eyes in the house after filming Ep 7?
A Yeah, one guy…but we fired him for not having a soul.
Q What is your favorite part of being involved with the Outlander universe?
A C’mon… the fans!
Q You being a fan of the books first,do you think you have a harder time adapting things than the other writers that are new?
A When I do the first draft it’s writer. On the next pass it’s fan, then my final pass I try to meld them together. ;-{>
Matt: Pizza’s here, remember we’re all in Outlander together. Watch Outlander, tell friends, hell, tell enemies, maybe they’ll become friends.
