We have a premiere date for the second season of Lucifer.
Get ready to catch up on all the devilish excitement on Monday, September 19 at 9:00-10:00 pm ET/PT.
We also now know who will be playing Lucifer’s mother.
According to Deadline:
“One of the biggest casting questions for Season 2 of Fox’s comic book drama Lucifer has been answered in a way that would delight genre fans.
Battlestar Galactica alumna Tricia Helfer has been cast as the devil’s Mom.”
“Helfer will recur on Season 2 as Charlotte in what is expected to the season’s central plotline. Trapped in Hell for thousands of years by God (her ex-husband), the Mother of Angels is now free on Earth. Lucifer’s desperate to find out what Mom’s up to, but she claims that all she wants is to spend time with her sons again. But can the devil’s mom really be that innocent?”
It looks like there might be a love triangle in season two between Lucifer, Chloe and a new character named Ella Lopez, played by Aimee Garcia who is best known from Dexter. She will be the department’s new forensic scientist who has a quirky personality that intrigues Lucifer. More information on Deadline.
In other Lucifer news, Radiotimes interviewed Tom Ellis about what some are referring to as his ‘big break’
“I feel like I’ve been working for a long time and serving my apprenticeship so to speak, and I just felt ready to take on bigger, meatier stuff. I just needed someone to take, I wouldn’t say a gamble, but someone to trust in me to do that.”
We learned that Tom Ellis and Sam Heughan (another actor who is enjoying his ‘big break’ right now) went to the same drama school. They are both over six feet tall and very good looking! As an Outlander fan, I’m always happy to learn new facts about the actors I admire.
“I’m so happy it happened for Sam because he’s a great actor but he’s also a really sweet guy. Incredibly handsome – he used to be known as ‘Handsome Sam’.”
“Heughan told RadioTimes.com earlier this year that he appreciates fame more at an older age, something Ellis is in full agreement with.”
