This was a busy week for Dark Matter and its fans. The winner of the script contest was announced, we peek into episode 202, and get a chance to ask questions of Melanie Liburd (Nyx). In addition, you can read Zoie Palmer’s answers to fan-submitted questions! See what you’re missing if you miss a day of Joe’s Blog?
Joe announced the winner of the cast-signed, annotated script today. “Mike From Blaine” took the prize because he had the highest score, matching 9 of 13 episodes correctly to themed dog pictures. This contest was a lot harder than it sounded and if you entered, you know what I mean. Also, head over for this and some great recommended articles about the season two premiere!
Today we saw more reviews on episode 201 and some interviews I think you’ll enjoy. Inside is a promo for episode 202 “Kill Them All” and sneak peek to boot. Viewers who’ve seen the episode know what a shocking and fantastic one it was.
The smiling face of Marc Bendavid (ONE/Derrick Moss/Jace Corso) greeted us today when he visited Joe in Vancouver. We’ll have to wait and watch to find out what the heck is going on with his characters, because telling now would spoil the fun. Until then, read on at the link for more about the episode title selection and how many subtle clues to SIX’s betrayal were tucked into the latter episodes of season one. There are also some details about props and a cut scene in the warden’s office; the latter of which has a script excerpt at the link.
Today, readers were given the chance to ask Melanie Liburd (Nyx) all the questions they could. Fans can submit questions in the comments section for the new crewmate to ponder. I hope you asked yours in time! There were more behind-the-scenes goodies like a cut scene between SIX (Roger Cross) and Anders (Jeff Teravainen), and a nod to Tom Barnett who played Durand, the head guard. Remember the guy who considers the highlight of his day zapping prisoners? That’s Tom, and he was great! There’s some cool trivia about the part of ONE’s lawyer, Felicia and an alternate ending to episode 201 that you can read.
If yesterday was Question Day, then today was Answer Day with Zoie Palmer responding to an earlier round of fan questions. Before the answers, there’s a little trivia about Palmer’s audition for the part and it’s a fun read with a little trivia thrown in!
Today was the day episode 202 hit the airwaves! To celebrate, Joe laid out a spate of posts offering teases and pictures from the episode. As if that weren’t enough, there were also links to many interviews; enough so that I’m pretty sure all your Q’s are A’ed, and even more articles about Dark Matter. For answers, click the link!
After a successful Friday-night broadcast, Saturday delivered some behind-the-scenes trivia. The story about how Inga Cadranel got the part of Alicia Raynaud (The “Hello, Pumpkin” evil, creepy, scheming lady) off someone else’s demo reel is priceless! Easily worth the click and then some.
And I’ll be damned if Joe didn’t tease something about her lackey’s beard and the importance of it. Maybe he was artificially grown from a piece of Alexander Rook’s Evil Beard of Evil as part of an army bent on galactic domination? Just a shot in the dark, but it could happen. There’s also a gallery of pictures of Bruce McDonald who was a favored director on the set. He’s an easy-going guy and everyone seems to love working with him. That’s always a big plus when you have to go to work super early in the morning and work long hours, often in the cold.
