With all the Dark Matter news, interviews, promos, and reviews I didn’t leave myself time to post an entry last week. I hope all the other excitement kept you busy enough to have not noticed. I’m also hoping that you can forgive me and will join me in a double-dose of digest delights!
Spiders! Well, to clarify, Spider-Man! Joe had a little fun by putting together his “Top 10 Worst Spider-Man Villains” list. Suffice it to say Mysterio, the green-garbed, fishbowl-helmet-wearing baddie Joe uses as his Twitter avatar would be in the TOP 10. Nowhere near the flops in his list at the link.
A new promo for season 2 came courtesy of Canada’s Space Channel along with the announcement that season 1 was on Netflix Canada now! Remember, you can now buy Dark Matter season 1 on DVD & Blu-ray from Funimation. Joe also showcased a lot of very cool fan art. You should check it out.
Today’s entry sees Anthony Lemke looking all dapper and civilized and stuff. Joe was kind enough to mention the interview he and I did. It was a lot of fun and really informative. For example: I learned “Netflix & chill” was, in fact, a euphemism and not a lazy day binge watching from the sofa!
You can’t keep Joe off the subject of food for very long, which is one of the reasons I like him so much. After returning to Vancouver and finding home wasn’t quite as he’d remembered, a culinary comparison was created. Click on the link to see how Toronto fares vs Vancouver across various kinds of cuisine.
Joe announced his upcoming (but of course by this publishing, now past) Reddit AMA that you really should read. So many fans turned out to ask all kinds of great questions. He also posted a link to his guest stint on Geek Soul Brother’s podcast. That was a lot of fun and Joe stayed even after the questions were over simply because he was having such a great time. Give it a listen! He also reported finishing a first draft of his new military scifi pilot. I cannot wait!
Today marked one week away from the season 2 premiere and Joe marked it with an appearance on the Geeksiders video hangout. If you have a 3D printer, you can make your own Raza model thanks to a very cool link in today’s entry.
Today was the big Reddit AMA and it was fun. Head to the link for more and you’ll also find a link to an article I wrote about how Dark Matter fills our need for Stargate. I hope you agree, even if just a little. Today’s entry was capped with some cool Stargate pictures!
A semi-awkward exchange with a salesperson started Sunday’s entry. It’s a pretty funny exchange you should check out. The screenshot of the day is, in true Dark Matter fashion, a real WTF moment. Here, I’ll give you a peek below.
You really must see the screenshot of the day in this entry! The Raza crew all dolled up is not something I thought I’d ever see! There were plenty of links to articles helping us gear up for season 2. Kathleen Wiedel put together a great season 2 primer over at TV Fanatic while Jamie Ruby wrote a great season 2 advance review for Scifi Vision.
T-minus 3 days and counting until the season 2 premiere! Today offered several links to various outlets, including ours. Among the selections, you could find an advance preview, Anthony Lemke previewing the new season, and my post on the Defiance shout-outs in the premieres of both Dark Matter and Killjoys. The day’s entry ended with an interesting knock-knock joke exchange between Akemi and Joe.
Work on stories for season 3 is underway even though season 2 has yet to premiere. That’s very encouraging to know. This entry has links to a couple of fun interviews and reminds readers there’s still time to enter to win a cast-signed, annotated script!
Only one day left until the big season 2 premiere and we have many questions to be answered. Joe also reminded us about fireworks safety and noted how much safer it would be to stay inside and watch Dark Matter. It’s also a lot more fun. There’s a gorgeous VFX shot of a futuristic cityscape and an unbelievably cool 360-degree view of the Raza bridge. There’s also a chance to win some show swag over on the official Facebook page. Details at the link.
“Raza, this is Mission Control. You are GO for launch!” Finally, premiere night has arrived and it brought with it a Twitterstorm of supportive fans. At the link you’ll find some more great links about the show, the new characters, and some sneak peeks!
Ahhh … today, we bathe in the afterglow of a glorious season 2 premiere. Joe offered up some fun facts about the season 2 premiere over at Syfy’s site and shared links to several reviews of the premiere. There’s too many to list here, but you’ll want to see the entirety of today’s entry not only for the information, but all the pictures.
