When mysterious spacecrafts touch down across the globe, an elite team – lead by expert linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) – is brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers – and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity.
The film is set to hit theaters Nov 11, 2016. The full trailer is set to be released on 8/16 according to the trailer. Denis Villeneuve, who has had several hit films including “Prisoners,” “Enemy” and “Sicario” is directing the film. Adams character is asked by the government to communicate with extraterrestrial beings after dozens of alien pods land on Earth. Jeremy Renner also stars as mathematician Ian Donnelly.
I am all for more alien centered films, but the state of movies has had me apprehensive. This teaser doesn’t say much, and if recent movie trailer disasters are any indicator (Ghostbusters, Star Trek: Beyond), that is a good thing. I only hope the extended full trailer that comes out next week doesn’t reveal too much. A good sense of mystery, sci-fi and post apocalyptic feel is all we need to be happy.
