The Making of Outlander – Behind the Scenes Book Giveaway!

By: Erin Conrad October 23, 2016
Behind The Scenes, Book Reviews, TV News, TV Reviews Diana Gabaldon, Outlander book, Random House, Starz, Starz Outlander, The Making of Outlander

CONTEST IS CLOSED! Just this week, a brand new must-have book came out! The Making of Outlander, by Tara Bennett, the official guide to Seasons One and Two, was published by Random House. Why do you want this? Lots of reasons! And be sure to scroll down to the bottom of this post for a chance to win a copy (US only, sorry, but that’s at the publisher’s request).

The 231-page book has hundreds of great photos, including many production and behind the scenes pictures. You’ll find most of your favorites, ones that have circulated the web, in here (look in the back, one page from the inside back cover, for a stunning 2-page photo of Jamie and Claire at the stones!). I would have loved more BTS photos than are shown here, but I’m a BTS junkie.

Diana Gabaldon wrote an introduction to the book. “And then Starz took on the show and things started happening faster. Actors began to be cast, a studio was being built in Scotland, and suddenly it all started to be Real. And the fans, who had been waiting impatiently for twenty-five years to see a screen version of the story they loved, went nuts.”

There’s a feature on the Writer’s Room, the Journey from Book to Screen, chapters on all the major players (Sam, Caitriona, Graham, Tobias, and many more). There’s a separate chapter on each episode from Seasons One and Two, and special looks at the costumes and production design for each season.

List price for the book is $50. You can purchase it on Amazon for $33 (or on Kindle for $17.99), or you could buy a Diana-autographed copy through the Poisoned Pen! OR…. you may be the lucky one who wins a copy here. Again, sorry, contest open to US residents only. Good luck!

Celebrating four years with Three If By Space. Well, um, “celebrating…” My boss has a very large display cabinet full of Star Wars and Star Trek collectibles. My kids are ok with me being a nerd. Like they have a choice. Covering Outlander and a variety of other current shows, movies and books.
