Oh deer, yes I meant deer. And a very bad deer indeed! AMC, you need to up your game in the CGI department! More about this later.
Happiness, joy, driving, running, Sex, happiness, joy, killing walkers, Sex, fighting, scavenging, danger, BAD CGI DEER, Sex…It doesn’t really matter what order you put those in, the fact is there was alot of SEX. All this and some ready to eat meals! That is what went on in Sunday’s Walking Dead episode 712, ‘Say Yes’.
I guess you can call it the ‘Rick and Michonne Show’. This episode took us a little deeper into the relationship that some people hate and others love. Richonne is the word. I for one, am not a ‘shipper’. I don’t like it and think it’s pretty silly. But, alas, there are many people that have a great time, putting characters together. Rick and Michonne have always had a chemistry. Since the beginning, I have seen a spark, or whatever you want to call it. This subtle, yet strong, growing relationship. It is now all out love. This episode showed us many things about the pair.
Going on a run, can be fun. As evident in the scenes of Rick and Michonne stumbling into a full fledged walker carnival. They need to find supplies. Not only for Negan, but now for Jadis and the junkyard group. They have a quota to fill. They find a jackpot of supplies, both food and guns. It’s pretty clear the the Army has been involved at the carnival, as there are plenty of walker soldiers milling about. And this means guns. Cases of ready to eat meals are also discovered.
There is plenty of danger to go around fo the both of them. The walkers all over, that need to be quelled, are just part of the danger As they stand on a roof, surveying the scene, it gives out and they both fall in. Not to worry, they discover the supplies, and laugh. Oh what fun it is to go on a run!
They both do there share of zombie kills, Michonne slices and dices a few. Rick has a plan to lead them away by car, but uh oh, the brakes fail. This leaves them both stranded in the car surrounded by a small horde. Not to worry again, as they climb out the sunroof and bound away, unscathed.
The deer. Rick relates to Michonne in the beginning, that he owes her a deer. Remember that Negan took Michonne’s last deerkill for himself. So, is it any wonder that he spots a deer at the carnival. Thinking he can give her a surprise, he climbs a ferris wheel, to get a better shot, and before he can shoot it, falls to the ground and gets almost over run by walkers. Michonne sees him fall, and then runs over to find the walkers ripping into something. Thinking that it’s Rick they are eating, she freezes, drops her katana, and almost gets killed herself. Rick jumps out from a crate and saves her. Now about that deer. A VERY BAD, CGI deer. It was almost ridiculous looking. Come on AMC! Get with the program! You are obviously spending many a dollar, for Sheva. Can’t you spare a little bit more for your small CGI animals, (and maybe work on that green screen thing too, just sayin’). I am almost embarrassed that it was that bad! They might as well, just stuck a scrapbooking sticker in the finished frame of film. Anyway, the past 2 days have been crazy with articles and complaints about that damned deer! Lol.
Michonne is visibly shaken at the near death of Rick, and he knows it. He talks of Glenn and the ones that they have lost. He knows that they can die in this fight, but that the other has to go on to lead if that should happen. Very poignant words and somewhat scary to think about. Losing either one of them is going to be very hard on the fans.
When at last they arrive at the junkyard to give Jadis the guns and supplies, Jadis says it’s not enough. Another deal is ,and our group has to get more guns. Michonne assures Rick that it can be done. By the way, I really can’t stand the way the Heapsters talk, it is very irritating. And I am still thinking that this group is something more. Just mark my words and keep watching.
When back in the safe zone. Rosita, still acting the restless ,is waiting. She needs to do something soon. The traumatic events have driven her ‘have’ to kill Negan. She finally approaches Sasha. They make a pact. Each of them know that this could mean their death, but the deal is done. They agree to help one another.
In the end, Tara, who is laden with guilt, and wanting to help, approaches Rick. She wants to tell him about Oceanside. Will she?
