As is frequently the case, the Doctor is taking on a new companion. We all know by now that the overall role of said companion is essentially that of the viewer. You know the drill – Here’s a fresh-faced passenger in the TARDIS marveling over having all of time and space open to explore. They have to say the obligatory, “It’s bigger on the inside” or something similar. They have to come to grips with the Doctor being a bit gruff and somewhat odd. And, most of all, they have to learn to RUN!
Sure, I’ve painted a boring picture, but that’s only a small part of the scenery. With each new character, and the actor who portrays them, comes a fresh twist on the “OMG-time-and-space!” reaction. As in real life, different people will react differently to the same situation. And it’s no different with Bill. From the short video snippets we’ve seen so far, she’s got a big personality. Bill seems like someone who’s going to be quite … enthusiastic. I’m sure that’ll occasionally rub the Doctor the wrong way, but many things do. So don’t take it personally, Bill. We’ve got your back.
