Welcome to our friday anime news round-up. Our new weekly series will focus on all the hot news you might have missed in the world of anime for the past week. Everything from new anime series to preview trailers. We will also bring you interviews and great content from around the web. So what is new in the world of anime this week?

Attack On Titan

For starters all you Attack On Titan fans will be excited to hear the english dub will start airing on Toonami this weekend. Find out what date and time here. Season 2 just started and is a few episodes in on the subbed version which you can currently watch on Crunchyroll and Funimation.

Tokyo Ghoul Live Action Trailer

Tokyo Ghoul is an amazing manga and the anime is awesome as well. Season 2 is controversial due to the fact that is doesn’t follow the source material. But that being said, should a live action adaptation happen? Live action adaptions of anime tend not to go very well. But every so often there are exceptions (see Ghost In The Shell). Brent Mercer over at Viewster previews the new trailer and has this important tidbit about the tailer.

“It seems like director Kentarō Hagiwara is keeping fairly close to the manga. We recognize several characters from the manga, including Rize the she-ghoul who is the story’s catalyst.”

Your Name.

Your Name. continues to dominate the US market and with good reason. In our recent interview with the voice cast of Your Name, they revealed how this film has brought fans together:

“I see a lot of fans on twitter who had already seen the film, perhaps not legally, but they loved it so much they went out and bought tickets to go see it again dubbed. I also saw fans who saw it in theaters and then went again with friends and family. There is a lot of repeat viewing, which is extra amazing to see.”

Graham Becher Over at Viewster also loved Your Name and had this to say:

“To be 100% honest, it doesn’t matter if you see this subbed or dubbed. I ugly cried during the dubbed version even though I knew exactly what was going to happen.”
