Doctor Who “Extremis” Trailer – If Books Could Kill

The Doctor has friends in need all across the cosmos, and this week his assistance is needed by someone quite familiar: The Pope. It turns out the Vatican has a secret library of *gasp* blasphemy with one particularly terrible book. Known only as The Veritas, this book causes anyone who reads it to immediately take their own lives. Perhaps the author should consider an alternate career path. Reviews like, “It made me literally want to kill myself” won’t do The Veritas any favors on Amazon. It’s the bargain bin for that one.

From this trailer, The Veritas seems to have something to do with the vault the Doctor is guarding. It’s also got something to do with Missy as we see a very brief flash of her near the end. Could this be the episode where the Mistress/Master reappears in a previous incarnation? Might this be the one where John Simm reprises his role? Could I shut up and quit asking questions? Sure. Let’s watch the trailer. It’s far more interesting than my nonsense.

Episode synopsis for “Extremis”:

In the Haereticum – the Vatican’s secret library of blasphemy – there is an ancient book known only as The Veritas. Throughout history, anyone who has ever read it has immediately taken their own life. Now a new translation is online, and the danger is spreading. The Vatican appeals to the Doctor. Will he read The Veritas? But can even the Doctor survive the ultimate truth?
