If you are still on the fence about Fear The Walking Dead, be prepared to fall off! Season 3 is in line to be the best season yet! AMC’s sister series to The Walking Dead, is really ramping up this season. Although many viewers keep comparing this series to the original, it can stand on it’s own two feet. Give it a chance already!
This season promises to be a real winner with the fans. I was fortunate enough to get information on some of the episodes, and I have to say, they were great!. This season will no doubt, give the naysayers something to think about. Personally I have loved it from the start, but then again, I don’t compare it to The Walking Dead. If you treat this show as it’s own entity, you will be much better off. After all, it is based on the beginning of the outbreak and set in a different time and place. With that being said, please binge watch seasons 1 and 2, and rethink the series. I think you will be pleased as to how it has grown!
“The pace of the show very much feels to me like it’s up a notch,” says Cliff Curtis, who plays Travis Manawa. “We’re much more attuned to the apocalypse and so we’re ready to take action. It’s been a long and very restrained journey for Travis to finally come to terms with his own morality and to put that aside and get on with the killing,” says Curtis. (TVGuide)
Will season 3 bring the badass out in Travis? Do you think that all that has happened to him, will lead him to become stronger? I have high hopes for him, but something tells me the answer will be no.
Victor Strand was a force to be reckoned with in season 2. Will he still be on top of his game in this next round? He stayed behind at the hotal when last season ended, but what was his fate? “I believe that Victor Strand not only has a Plan A and B but he also has a Z and a 7,” says Colman Domingo. “I think that he’s trying to figure out his next steps in some way, because I think that he’s truly lost his way.” (TVGuide)
And what of Ofelia? We saw her being found by a man at the end of season 2. Will she be alive and well, when the others catch up to her. Is she at the prepper ranch run by Jeremiah Otto? Jeremiah is a patriotic border militiaman that railed against the region’s cartel violence and illegal immigration, Otto patrolled his cattle ranch and linked with other like-minded men and organizations throughout the Southwest. He built a network, became a leader, and planned contingencies for the inevitable fall of the American empire — not just a simple survival strategy but a DIY guide for resurrecting society. Otto always expected the fall of democracy – he didn’t plan on the rise of the Dead. Either way, there’s an opportunity to rebuild. The people of Broke Jaw Ranch are ready; tracks have been laid. Does this new society in the making offer Madison’s family hope?
And what of Madison? She seemed to be the stronger woman by the end of season 2. Will she keep that strength and lead her family to safety? Showrunner Dave Erickson said the new installment of the AMC series will reveal more details about Madison’s past. “We’ve been dancing around Madison’s backstory for quite some time, really since the pilot,” Erickson said. “And [in Season 3] we will start to get a better picture of where she came from, who she is and, you know, why she has become this person who can be incredibly nurturing and supportive for her children, but she is also able to allow violence, she is able to commit crimes. There is a reason for that and it really comes from her past.” Read more about Madison here.
So, whether you like it or not, I believe Fear The Walking Dead will be around for quite awhile. Binge watch season 2 on Sunday, June 4th, starting at 4 am central on AMC. Then stay tuned in for the premiere at 8 pm! Give it a watch. You will be pleasantly surprised!
