The Flash 3×21 Preview – “Cause and Effect”

Episode Summary: Barry (Grant Gustin) takes drastic measures to stop Savitar. Meanwhile, H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) continues to push Tracy Brand (guest star Anne Dudek) to design the trap for Savitar and Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) returns with an interesting proposal. David McWhirter directed the episode written by Judalina Neira & Lauren Certo (FLA321). Original airdate 5/9/2017.

Not to gloat or anything, but I called it on Barry being Savitar. I will add that most people came to the same conclusion, so it’s not that impressive of a solve. Sherlock Holmes, I am not. Anyway, Savitar is Barry from the future. To stop him, Team Flash comes up with another crazy plan: stop Barry from making new memories. That, of course, backfires and causes Barry to forget everything and everyone around him. Oh, goody, the memory wipe episode! I say that with only a little sarcasm because, when done right, this trope can be a lot of fun. I’m eager to find out if Barry has to play “Twenty Questions.”

As for cientist Tracy Brand, she’ll be back this episode to, possibly, design a trap for Savitar–assuming H.R. is persuasive enough. But the science will be very tricky and difficult to get right since we are dealing with freaking time travel. In addition, I’m super interested in knowing what Killer Frost’s “proposal” is. She’s known for playing with her food, so to speak, so it might just be an attempt to catch the team off guard.

What are you looking forward to seeing this episode? Do you think Barry will get his memory back thanks to some rad science mumbo-jumbo? Share your thoughts in the comments!
