Dark Matter production has wrapped and we’re just a little over a month from the season 3 premiere. We’re kind of in that “limbo” phase where it’s still a bit early for the network and studio to start sending out promotional material. But as fans, we’re dyin’ over here! We want to know more about one of our favorite shows and patience isn’t one of our virtues.
Don’t fret, because I’ve got your back. I’m doing everything I can to help you scratch that Dark Matter itch. Thanks to the generosity of Prodigy Pictures and Joseph Mallozzi (and me being a pest) I’m elated to announce that I have three exclusive season 3 photos to share!
Sure, it’s not a huge gallery of images, but you’re not going to find this anywhere else, at least not right now. In fact, about the only places I know of to find this kind of season 3 info is here and Joseph Mallozzi’s Blog. Which, by the way, you should read every day if you want to stay current with your favorite show. It also wouldn’t hurt my feelings if you checked out my weekly round-up of Joe’s blog, Dark Matter Digest.
Now that I’ve got you armed with ways to stay updated on Dark Matter, let’s get to the pictures. That’s the reason you clicked on the link, right?
This first one is of Roger Cross as Six, the kind-hearted moral compass of the crew. Six, as viewers know, is very protective of Five and acts as something of a father figure to her. Sure, he turned in the crew to the Galactic Authority, but it wasn’t out of spite or a need for revenge. He truly thought he was doing the right thing at the time and has been making amends ever since. He’s also taken some heat from his crewmates for his actions. No matter what he does, you can always count on Six to do what he feels is right and good. In this picture he looks a little concerned. I wish I could offer more, but like before you’ll have to draw your own conclusions until the episode airs.
The above photo is from episode 307 which has the viewer-selected title “Wish I Could Believe You”. Like all the episode titles, this is a line of dialogue from the episode itself. Take that nugget of information and the picture and see what paranoid conspiracies you can whip up.
Next is a true behind-the-scenes snap from the same episode taken by Stephen Scott. Reading the clapperboard, one can see this episode was directed by Paul Day, who has worked on shows like Into the Badlands, The Expanse, Lost Girl, and much, much more. The man behind the camera is D. Gregor Hagey who has a long and impressive resume as DP on many projects. Our thanks to all three, and to everyone who works on Dark Matter, for their hard work.
Your final glimpse into the future is a true mystery image. All I know about this picture is that it’s a screenshot from season 3. Two and Three are walking down corridors that are definitely not on the Raza. Their guns are drawn as if they’re expecting trouble. Maybe they’re playing a VR version of Space Station Wolfenstein? Yeah, that’s a really bad guess, but it would make an awesome game. Somebody get on that while I wave cash in your face.
