We had just left Food Wars at the end of the big competition and now the elite ten compete and its time for the challengers to compete against the best. In the upcoming issue of Shonen Jump, it is revealed that a third season of the series is set for this fall. The 25th volume release of the manga will include a limited edition that includes an OVA episode on DVD.
It was revealed last July that Sentai had licensed the series for an English dub with a collectors edition of the series coming out August 15th. The 13-episode second season of Food Wars! picked up where the first season left off on the cusp of the contested Fall Selection. Eight of the most talented first-year students of the elite Tohtsuki Academy wage a culinary battle to advance to the next round of the Fall Selection, a kitchen-based showdown that will decide who will rise in the ranks and who will end up on the chopping block.
There will also be some casting changes as Hisako Kanemoto takes over the role of Erina Nakiri. The rest of the new cast is as follows:
