With a title like “The Eaters of Light” you know there’s going to be a lot of running around in the darkness. In this short preview, Bill has a close encounter of the scariest kind with a new monster. It is said these monsters eat light, but they also look to have an appetite for people. Don’t they almost always? We must be pretty tasty.
The Doctor, Bill, and Nardole aren’t alone in this nightmarish adventure, though. They have the famed lost ninth Roman army along for the assist. Could this be what caused that ancient Roman legion of 5000 men to disappear completely? If so, that’s one hungry monster.
Episode synopsis:
A hunt for the lost Ninth Roman Legion leads the Doctor, Bill and Nardole into the middle of an ancient battle that could cast humanity into the dark forever. What is inside the cairn? And how far will they have to go defeat the terrifying alien Eaters of Light?
