Game of Thrones is off to a great start this season and only promises to get better with the third episode, The Queen’s Justice. The show left off with one hell of a bad situation for Dany. Euron Greyjoy completely annihilated her fleet and captured Ellaria and Yara. Unfortunately, I imagine those prizes making their way into Cersei’s hands. Thanks a lot, Euron, you asshat! I’ll admit, I never liked the Dornish. Murdering Marcela was unjustified, but I despise the idea of Cersei winning in any way, even a minor one. Perhaps now, Dany will definitely know not to underestimate Cersei. What will she do to recover from this loss and rescue Ellaria and Yara though?
While Stormborn left off on a sour note, at least some good came from the episode. Arya learned of Jon’s return to Winterfell and is finally heading home. There was also a short reunion, albeit a bittersweet one at that, with Nymeria. Jorah is getting some much-needed help from Sam with that pesky greyscale, too. Best of all, though, the episode set us up for a long awaited meeting between two fan favorites: Dany and Jon.
What will The Queen’s Justice bring of this considering Dany’s and Jon’s agendas don’t exactly coincide? Dany’s concerned with putting the Seven Kingdoms back under the rule of a Targaryen, while Jon’s worried about the Night King taking over. As Dany by Tyrion said, “I am not here to be the queen of the ashes” I highly doubt ruling over a frozen tundra of death would be much better. Will they be able to work out a deal? Or will this end with neither party getting what they need?
