Stranger Things: Season 2 Trailer at SDCC

Stranger Things Season 2 Trailer

The first trailer for Stranger Things 2 is here! It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived. Season 2 premieres October 27, 2017.

Stranger Things fans, rejoice! The Season 2 trailer is here and there is a lot to geek out about! This trailer is phenomenal. Between the clever use of Michael Jackson’s Thriller and the horrifying glimpses of a giant Lovecraftian monster looming in the near distance, this teaser was so great it gave me chills.

Visions of the Upside Down are still traumatizing Will. Now there is a new, much larger and much scarier monster to worry about. Seeing the denizen with its enormous, tentacle-like appendages makes me think it’s inspired by the deep ones of H.P. Lovecraft’s writings. Will sees it at random times and feels it’s evil intentions everywhere.

Mike is still reeling from the loss of Eleven, but he still feels some kind of connection to her. Her hand breaking through the dimensional barrier back into our world was delightful as well as ominous to see. What will happen once she returns to our world? Is the fan theory correct that she created the demogorgon? Is she connection to the new monster?

From the Ghostbusters costumes and blood splatters to the sprawling darkness and Upside Down eeriness, this trailer has me more than pumped for the new season. It seems we’ll be in for a wild ride come October 27.
