Blood Blockade Battlefront is coming back this October and we couldn’t be more excited. Leonardo Watch and his friends will be back in action saving Earth and the netherworlds. It is clear from the preview that all the craziness that we love will return. Along with that classic and fun soundtrack.
The new season will focus more on Leonardo’s relationship with his younger sister and the origins of his eyes. No official word on where it will be streaming. However Funimation currently holds the license for home video and season 1 streaming. We fully expect this series to land in their simuldub lineup. Plus with their new Crunchyroll deal, fans of the sub should be able to see it streaming there around the same time. Are you ready for the all seeing eyes of the gods to return?

Blood Blockade Battlefront & BEYOND is directed by Shigehito Takayanagi and features animation by Bones. Funimation currently licenses the first season in North America and it is expected they will snag the license for dubbing the new series in 2017. With the new partnership between Crunchyroll and Funimation I fully expect you will see Blood Blockade Battlefront on CR as well. Here is a short synopsis for the series:
“A breach between Earth and the netherworlds has opened up over the city of New York, trapping New Yorkers and creatures from other dimensions in an impenetrable bubble. They’ve lived together for years, in a world of crazy crime sci-fi sensibilities. Now someone is threatening to sever the bubble, and a group of stylish superhumans is working to keep it from happening.”
