Killjoys: A Heist, Dutch And What’s On Her Mind – Preview

Anything that takes a fun riff off Vanilla Ice’s lone hit is going to be okay with me. Thankfully, Killjoys episode 308, “Heist, Heist, Baby,” offers far more than a nice ode to a classic one-hit wonder. It pushes forward some hope for the coming war with the Hullen, as well as just what Dutch was thinking when she anointed D’Avin the leader of the forming army.

While this episode doesn’t deliver the “bang” that episode 307 did, it certainly does a great job of setting the stage for what we all are anticipating will be quite the stretch run to the season finale (Calling Michelle Lovretta and crew – go ahead, rock our worlds. I dare you.).

Dutch’s experience in the green and how she “came to be” certainly rattled her at first, but time has given her a calmer demeanor. Having come to grips with who and what she is, we see a much different Dutch in this week’s episode. She does some very “un-Dutch” kinds of stuff.

This week’s action also gets us back to some good old sneaky thievery in the “Killjoys style” we’ve all grown to enjoy. To take the measure of the Hullen armada, our gang come up with a plan to acquire some tech that requires some odd and shaky alliances and a good bit of gunfire and robbery. Quips, contempt and contradictions pop up throughout the scheme and, in the end, what needs to be gotten gets gotten – with a little flair and some good fortune.

The war is coming and our intrepid army is growing stronger and a touch more confident (just a touch, folks). They are figuring out ways to turn their untenable position into one they feel far more comfortable in defending.

From Zeph to Johnny to Pree (he’s got quite a good look going on – I approve), everyone is making their own unique contributions to the coming war effort – though one of our gang is prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice. Find out why Friday night.

Oh, Aneela gets to enjoy a friendly face once again — and the experience is pure torture.
