IT Gets a Green Light for Sequel

By: Michelle Harvey
horror It Sequel Stephen King

Well it’s only opening day for the highly anticipated remake of Stephen King’s classic horror film, IT. And the sequel is already in the works for a chapter two. Though it was assumed there would be a sequel, it hasn’t been a guarantee, until now. IT is projected to make as much as $70 million in it’s opening weekend in the United States. But with writer, Gary Dauberman on board to return, Chapter Two of IT could hit as early as 2019. Horror fans can rejoice, Pennywise The Dancing Clown will indeed be returning to terrorize the town of Derry. Check out the trailer below, are you brave enough to pay Pennywise a visit?

While no other contracts have been officially signed yet, it looks like most of the producers are also on board for the sequel. With the same writer on board, and the same producers I have just as much hope for Chapter Two. The team behind this remake did a fantastic job, and I am not one who is a big fan of remakes. IT is a perfect blend of the classic story, nostalgia, jump scares and good old pure terror. Pennywise The Dancing Clown might be terrorizing more than just the sewer of Derry tonight…
