Gotta Have the News

Cait and Sam will be on a bunch of talk shows next week! Here’s what you should set your DVR for:

  • Sam: Live with Kelly & Ryan, Tuesday, 9/5
  • Cait: Live with Kelly & Ryan, Thursday, 9/7; Stephen Colbert 9/7
  • Both: The View, 9/7; Good Morning America, 9/8

Of course, the New  York and LA premieres are next Tuesday. If you’re attending, please feel free to send me pictures via FB PM (Erin Adams Conrad or Outlander-Three If By Space) or email, econrad@threeifbyspace.net, and I’ll publish them next week!

They’ll also be on the cover of this Sunday’s Parade magazine, a newspaper insert. If you don’t have access to the magazine, here’s the article.

Are you a Funko Pop lover? I am, for sure, and I love all the custom Pops people make – there are SO many amazingly talented people out there! And unfortunately, I’m not one of them, but Funko may come (partially) to the rescue – they announced today that they’re setting up a Pop! Factory so you’ll be able to mix and match pieces to create your own custom Pop. Obviously, they can’t be as beautifully customized as some of our fandom artists can make, but maybe we could get a basic Murtagh? And no word  yet if you can order this by mail or if you have to go to their corporate office in Everett, WA to do this. When more info is available, I’ll post it here! In the meantime, if you want to share your Pop! life, show off yoru scenes, see what others have done, post any custom Pop! stuff for sale, etc., join us over on Facebook at Outlander Funko Pops!

For your premiere parties – Kim Colby at The Magpize Nest on Etsy has some adorable cupcake toppers! $4.75 for 6.

We have 4 last boxes of Outlander Trading Cards available for sale – check out our Collector’s Shop!

There’s More to Life

Great friend and fellow TIBS writer Alyson Bailey will be covering the TV adaptation of Deborah Harkness’ A Discovery of Witches, and she’s convinced me to get the first one and start reading it. Has anyone else read it? Loved it? Let me know!

I’m starting to plan my very first trip to Las Vegas, for this fall, with hubby and his brother and sister-in-law. None of us have any experience with Las Vegas – long weekend, short money, where to stay and go?

New book started this week – Sue Grafton’s Y is for Yesterday, newest entry in her Kinsey Millhone series.

All Around TIBS

Our managing editor, Robert Prentice, and other members of our staff are at DragonCon in Atlanta this weekend! They’re not only attending, they’re moderating and participating in fan and celeb panels. Keep an eye on our official Twitter account, @ThreeIfBySpace, for photos and more!

One Friday night show cancelled, one renewed for 2 more seasons – it’s been a roller coaster day. Read about Dark Matter‘s abrupt ending here, and Killjoys‘ renewal here.

Invested in the other epic costume drama? Here’s Carrie’s review of the season finale of Game of Thrones.

This Week’s Poll

Results from last week – I was a little surprised that 70% of you said you’d be watching the Outlander season premiere by yourself! But that’s one way to make sure that your ugly crying won’t be the subject of ridicule.
