The Shape Of Water – Red Band Trailer

By: Robert Prentice September 19, 2017
Movie Previews Guillermo del Toro, The Shape Of Water

From master story teller, Guillermo del Toro, comes THE SHAPE OF WATER – an other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1962. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment. Rounding out the cast are Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Michael Stuhlbarg and Doug Jones.

The film is already being lauded as one of Del Toro’s best film, surpassing even that of Pan’s Labyrinth. After finishing up its Venice screenings the film was awarded the Golden Lion. It beat out 21 other films to win the festivals highest honor. In the red band trailer below we get to see an intense performance by Michael Shannon, which should be interesting to watch. And our favorite Doug Jones will be playing ‘the subject’ that lives in the water.

Just from what we have seen in the trailer the film is going to be a bit quirky but in a Guillermo del Toro way, which is a great thing. This is a film I had not heard anything about until recently but I am glad I did. I will be in line to see The Shape Of Water when it comes to Theaters December 8th.

Tell us your thoughts on the trailer. Are you excited? What is your favorite Guillermo del Toro film to date?
