Syfy Reveals Four New Photos From ‘Happy!’

Syfy released 4 new photos from the upcoming original series ‘Happy!’. The series is based on a graphic novel of the same name and it looks a bit out there. Meloni plays an ex-cop, which given his long stint on Law and Order, fits most peoples idea of Meloni as an actor. However, he has played in many other roles and Happy! intends to show us that with its whacky story.

Happy! doesn’t feel like my type of show, but for Syfy it is more genre programming. Genre programming is something the network needs after several recent cancellations have left some holes in the weekly line up. The graphic novel adaptation will also shift one week to now premiere on Wednesday, December 6 at 10/9c.

Check out the newly released photos below and the trailer. Let us know if you will be checking it out.

Universal Cable Productions’ HAPPY! is based on New York Times best-selling author Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson’s graphic novel of the same name. The series follows Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni, “Law & Order: SVU”) – an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man – who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse named “Happy” (Patton Oswalt).

Executive producers Morrison (“Batman,” “The Invisibles”) and Brian Taylor (“Crank,” “Gamer”) co-wrote the pilot teleplay. Neal Moritz, Pavun Shetty and Toby Jaffe of Original Film (“The Fast and the Furious” franchise), Meloni and showrunner Patrick Macmanus (“Marco Polo”) will also executive produce. Taylor directed the pilot.
