The Shannara Chronicles: Wraith – Review

Season 2 of The Shannara Chronicles has a very dark and threatening feel to it. We see that things just continue to go poorly for everyone. There are new threats in the Four Lands and evil is growing stronger with each passing moment. There is no wondering what the title of episode 2: Wraith, means. Watch out Will Ohmsford, looks like you are at the top of their list!

We finally get to meet Garet Jax, who is there to retrieve Lyria. He is such a bad ass and really knows how to make an entrance! I can tell he is going to be a favorite of mine. He may seem like a cold-hearted person, but he apparently has a soft side for romantics. A very interesting trait for a guy who has no problem killing and doing things for payment. I am interested to see what his story is and how he plays into this season. Will he join the war against evil? Is he only out for more money? I will be watching you Jax! You have definitely caught my eye!

Welcome to Leah

Now, that is one amazing city! It is absolutely stunning in every way and just takes your breath away. I swear it was sparkling. Everything about Leah was gorgeous and Queen Tamlin is no exception. She is absolutely regal, but there might be a darkness to her. Allanon doesn’t trust her and I don’t either. She appears to be very sneaky and all about her own agenda. Is her only agenda at the moment to get her daughter married to the Elf king? What is she hiding? Why does daughter and mother dislike each other? The mother/daughter relationship is ice cold. It is very interesting to me. There must be more to this story!

So, we see that Allanon is capture by the Crimson. I just wanted to smack General Riga right in the face. Where did he get that knuckle ring that wards off any magic? Poor Allanon didn’t stand a chance! It is very curious that the General had this particular item. For someone who hates magic and wants to eradicate it, he obviously doesn’t mind using it, if it will save his sorry butt!

I am a sucker for fashion and The Shannara Chronicles has fantastic taste. Queen Tamlin and Lyria have gorgeous clothes that are also very appealing. Eretria’s outfit is perfect in my opinion. I love how it looks and it also just makes her look like a bad ass. The clothing also has some sex appeal to it which is, of course, another bonus. Even the hair is awesome! Is there anything this show doesn’t have? I think not!

The show is obviously heading towards some very dark days. I was really struck by how badly things are going for everyone. Allanon is captured, Will’s uncle is taken by Bandon, Eretria finds out her girlfriend is lying to her and that Amberle is gone. We also see Catania, the sweetest elf around, stabbed! Ridiculous! There is just so much struggling going on in the Four Lands and it seems that Will is going to need accept who is, before it’s too late. This season of The Shannara Chronicles is already off to an amazing start. I am already anxious for episode 3! So, make sure you tune in next Wednesday at 10/9c on Spike Tv, for episode 3 of The Shannara Chronicles. It is going to be epic!
