If you are a fan of Deborah Harkness’s All Souls Trilogy books, you will be very happy to know that there will be a Discovery of Witches show, and there is now a new trailer that came out the other day. It’s so exciting, as I look at the trailer, I am seeing that there is a lot to look forward to!
In this scene we see Ashmole 782 sliding back off the shelf. I’m guessing it’s when Diana calls it at the Bodleian Library.
Diana is looking at Ashmole 782, I like the way we can see the writing moving above the book and over her hand.
These are two great screenshots of Matthew and Diana’s affection for each other.
Matthew kissing Diana’s wrist, this promises to be a really hot moment.
I like the way they are showing their hands together here. The hopeless romantic in me just loves this stuff!
I thought it would be fun to look at some of the key characters.
In the trailer there are peeks at a few scenes that book readers don’t recognize. I think we need to remember that this is an adaptation (key word adaptation), since TV is a visual medium and since they don’t have the luxury of using every single scene from the books, we need to be prepared for changes. We can make ourselves crazy comparing and finding differences that upset us, but that isn’t worth it to me. As an adaptation there will be changes and we need to trust that the writers and producers (no reason not to at this point) will do the story justice.
I’m looking forward to helping to grow interest in the show and of course in the books!
And now for the long awaited trailer!
Now that you’ve seen the trailer, what caught your eye and what are you looking forward to seeing in the show?
The challenge for those of us in the United States is that there is no plan yet for how it will be shown here. We need to contact @SkyOne and @BadWolf_TV on twitter to encourage them to make it happen soon.
